How to Install Moodle Without Pictures Tutorials

 For an automatic installation, users can utilize the installer included in the control panel used by their web hosting provider.

We’ll walk you through the steps of this LMS installation on your web server using hPanel and cPanel.

With Hostinger, you can install the Moodle platform with ease using the already provided one-click installer.

To use hPanel’s one-click installer for Moodle, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the hPanel.
  2. Click Hosting on the navigation bar, find your domain name, and click the Manage button.

  2. How to install Moodle

    Moodle is an Open Source Course Management System, also known as a Learning Management System (LMS) or a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Educators around the world use it for creating dynamic websites for their students. Moodle is easy to install; get started in minutes!

    Please note, the installation of Moodle requires 1 MySQL database.

    Step-by-step installation instructions:

    1. Log in to your HostPapa dashboard: https://www.hostpapa.com/dashboard

    2. Click on My cPanel. If you have more than one domain associated with your HostPapa account, click on the appropriate domain link, then enter your cPanel password if required.

    3. Under Software/Services, select Softaculous.

    4. From the left hand menu, under Educational, select Moodle.

    5. Click the Install button.

    6. You may then configure the Software Setup.

      1. Choose Protocol: If your site has SSL, choose the HTTPS protocol – if not, either HTTP option will work.
      2. Choose Domain: Select the domain on which you wish to install Moodle.
      3. In Directory: Leave this blank to install into the root directory of the above domain name.
        IMPORTANT: If you have other software/scripts installed on this domain’s root directory, make sure you create a new folder and specify its name in this field to complete the installation. If you don’t, you will overwrite existing installations.
      4. Data Directory: This will be pre-populated; you may leave it as is.
      5. Database Name: This will be pre-populated; you may leave it as is.
      6. CRON Job: This will be pre-populated; you may leave it as is.
    1. You may then configure the Site Settings.

      1. Site Name: Choose any name for your new site.
      2. Site Description: Choose a description for your new site.

    2. You may then configure the Database Settings.
      1. Table Prefix: This will be pre-populated; you may leave it as is.

    3. You may then configure the Admin Account.
      1. Admin Username: This is pre-populated; you may leave it as is or choose a new username.
      2. Admin Password: This is pre-populated; you may leave it as is or choose a new password. Ensure you record it for future use.
        IMPORTANT: Choose a secure password to ensure the safety of your account.
      3. First Name: This will be pre-populated; you may leave it as is or enter your first name.
      4. Last Name: This will be pre-populated; you may leave it as is or enter your last name.
      5. Admin Email: This is pre-populated with the admin email associated with your domain name; however we strongly suggest choosing an alternate email that is not associated with your account.
      6. Click the plus sign beside Advanced Options; we strongly suggest that you DO NOT disable email notifications. Keeping your scripts up to date will ensure the security of your account.
